Favourite Trip Abroad
There are so many amazing vacation destinations in the world, it can be difficult to decide where to go next. Think back to your most memorable trip abroad and tell us where it was!
The best trips are those that have a balance of adventure, relaxation and culture. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, whether it’s hiking through a wild part of the country, or cruising on a ship in a new part of the world.
- Thailand
Thailand is a collage of animated scenes, from bustling modern cities crowded with motorbikes to Buddhist temples tended by orange-robed monks, hill tribes selling handicrafts to lush landscapes dotted with traditional farming villages.
Whether you’re in the capital, Bangkok, for big-city buzz or a quieter city like Chiang Mai, you’ll never forget the vibrant energy and contrasting textures of this enchanting destination.
- Vietnam
Vietnam is a beautiful country that has something to offer everyone. From the French-colonial heritage in Ho Chi Minh City to the terraced rice fields of Sapa and the historic fishing ports of the central coast, it’s a country that will take your breath away.
A popular place to visit is the country’s capital, Hanoi, where you can enjoy a street food tour and explore ancient landmarks. It also hosts the Dong Xuan night market, where you can watch a traditional water puppet show or grab a swan ride on Xuan Huong Lake.
- Cambodia
Cambodia is one of my favourite countries to visit. It has a lot to offer from stunning temples to beautiful nature.
It’s also a great place to experience some of the more unique activities that you can find in Southeast Asia. For instance, riding elephants in Mondulkiri is an experience you won’t forget!
Another great activity in this part of the country is to explore the jungles. Here you can enjoy a number of activities like trekking, birdwatching and even wildlife spotting.
- The Galapagos Islands
Peeking out of the Pacific Ocean 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands are a must-visit destination for adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. Home to an incredible array of wildlife, stunning geological structures, and turquoise waters, they offer a unique glimpse into the world as it was before humans.
The islands have evolved in many ways since their formation 5 million years ago, forming a unique environment and ecosystem. This evolution has resulted in a number of species that are endemic to the Galapagos.
- India
Travelling to India is an experience like no other. This vibrant country is filled with history, hypnotic landscapes, ancient traditions and wildly rich culture that will change your perception of the world forever.
From soaring palaces and ornate temples to pristine beaches, incredible food and vibrant culture, there’s plenty to see in the enchanting state of Rajasthan. The ethereal Thar Desert and the watery splendors of Udaipur, the sandcastle city of Jaisalmer, the mesmerizing blue of Jodhpur and the sacred lakeside town of Pushkar are just some of the stunning sights you’ll explore.
- Machu Picchu
High in the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu is a truly special place. The “Lost City of the Incas” was built on dizzying terraced slopes and a saddle between two dramatic mountain peaks.
It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is regarded as one of the most incredible ancient ruins in the world. The site is a reminder of the impressive masonry skills of the Incas.
- Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is one of the most popular travel destinations in North America. With three waterfalls that span the border between Ontario, Canada and New York state, it’s hard not to fall in love with this amazing site.
There are many ways to experience the falls, such as boat tours, helicopter rides, and hiking. However, there’s no way to truly appreciate the majesty of this natural wonder without spending time in the area.
- The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is undoubtedly one of the world’s most breathtaking natural treasures. The World Heritage-listed marine ecosystem is home to more than 400 different types of coral and 1,500 species of fish – all of which live in a delicate and complex habitat that’s dependent on the reef for survival.
Despite its immense beauty, the Great Barrier Reef is also facing significant threats from climate change. As such, the region’s future is an important consideration for all visitors and there are many holiday ideas and tours that focus on conservation and preservation.
- Bangkok
The quintessential Asian capital, Bangkok is a lively, eccentric, and traditional place. It’s a destination where you can discover captivating neighborhoods and hotspots, eat delicious dishes, shop stalls, and visit historic establishments.
Bangkok has a lot to offer, and it’s an easy city to explore thanks to its extensive public transport system. Besides the BTS Skytrain and MRT, you can also use Grab or tuk tuks to get around.
